Things To Do
Apart from spending days on the beautiful beach, Diani Beach is also near Shimba Hills Nature Reserve which is the home to some of Kenya’s most exotic creatures. Elephants, giraffes, antelopes, leopards and monkeys roam the land and can be seen often be seen on a tour around the park. Jadini Forest is also a great place to see black and white colobus monkeys if you fancy a more close up view of Kenya’s wildlife.
Beaches
The star of the show is Diani Beach’s coastline. 25km of white sand stretches from Mwachema River to Gazi Bay which makes for quite the Instagram picture. Beach bums will find thatch-roofed huts to grab a cool drink from during the day and if you’re feeling peckish, grab some fresh pineapple from a beach vendor! Water sports and diving excursions are also available here if you want to spend a day on the ocean!
Food And Drink
The local dish in Diani Beach is goat. Curried goat and barbecued goat are popular meals that you’ll find in most restaurants as well as fresh fish that’s been caught that morning. European and Asian dishes are also available on Diani Beach Road, the main street which runs parallel to the beach.
